The effect of near-infrared Photobiomodulation therapy on the ion content of 50B11 sensory neurons measured through XRF analysis

The Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology B: Biology has published an article by Zupin et Al on Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) and its effect on ion content within the 50B11 sensory neurons cell line in vitro, using X-Ray fluorescence (XRF) and atomic force microscope (AFM) analysis. The research may assist in the broader adoption of  PBMT as a therapeutic approach.

During the experimental process, cells were seeded onto Silson’s silicon nitride membranes , irradiated, and then analysed using XRF on the ID21 beamline at the ESRF and on the TwinMic beamline at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste.
