The Silson facility in Southam includes an extensive four cleanroom ISO7 microfabrication facility with a wide range of related equipment.
This includes a full photolithography capability with associated wet chemical etching. A range of metrology techniques including, microspectrophotometry, surface profilometry, electron microscopy with EDX as well as high-specification optical microscopy with DIC as standard.
There are also a variety of deposition tools available such as, electron beam deposition, standard resistive evaporation, sputtering and electroplating.
3D printing for prototype production and evaluation is available and there are additional electronics laboratories outside the cleanrooms and a non-cleanroom chemistry laboratory.
